Shelton Democratic Town Committee Elects New Leadership

The Shelton DTC elected a new slate of officers at their meeting March 21, 2022 at

the Shelton Community Center. The Town Committee will now be led by

Chairman Kevin Kosty, Vice-Chairwoman Monica Peterson, Secretary Michael

Federici, and Treasurer Denese Deeds. All are new to their posts with the

exception of Deeds. Kosty’s vision for the future of the party includes outreach to

the community. “We are committed to maintaining a low tax rate, so that all

residents can afford to live here. We also believe in an open, honest, and

respectful government that invests in our children’s education and important

infrastructure such as parking for the downtown and decent roads.”

Kosty, the former party Vice-Chairman, replaces outgoing Chairman David

Gioiello. Kosty has a background in science, works for PerkinElmer in Shelton,

and is a former aldermanic candidate. Retired teacher, Monica Peterson is a

former Shelton Parks and Recreation Commissioner. Federici, a former Marine, is

a veteran of the Gulf War and currently a therapist at the VA. He led the DTC

R.A.C.E. Task Force. Deeds, a 9-term Treasurer, owns IHSC, LLC, an

occupational health and safety company.
